Someone needs to get Biden a pair of sunglasses

Last edited Tue Aug 17, 2021, 12:07 AM - Edit history (2)

To tell it how it is. He has nerves of steel. He has a lot more than the previous guy to tell the cold hard truth about Afghanistan. He is willing to get the ridiculous grilling from the Q-tips, the bullshit media and sadly some of our own.

I give Biden huge fucking props to being truthful and blunt about Afghanistan.

Edit. Fixed it since it was coming off as sexist. Don't wanna offend anyone and that wasn't the point of my post. So sorry if I offended anyone

He opposed the surge, and has been proven correct in that opposition. We spent $400 billion over 3 years. It was the primary policy disagreement I had with Obama in 8 years of an otherwise stellar administration.

I think this was the right thing to do. I also think there was an intelligence failure that missed the should have been obvious fact that the Afghans wouldn’t fight.

I believe that at the end of the day history will view Biden’s decision as the right one.

Have you ever even heard of sexism? Isn't it possible a woman could have made the same decision as Biden without needing to cart testacles around in a wheelbarrow? Time to sweep out the old, tired memes of the 1950s and find some more appropriate ones for the 2020s. Just sayin.'

Go Biden keep telling the truth to the American people.

Tell the truth about republicans and thier PACs agendas and who donated shitloads of money to them and why.

Biden will always be remembered for it, prioritizing lives of US troops and taxpayers money. For the first time since trump, MSM found a bone to chew on and they hammer it with this topic 24/7 instead of focusing on far more important domestic issues.

... and I feel bad that Biden will reap a shitstorm when the evacuation really turns to shit. Nightmare shit.... Taliban using captured heavy weapons to fire at planes on the runway. Street executions. Women stoned. Our rear guard fighting for their lives, with Biden helpless to use air support because the civilians - even our allies - mixed in the fighting.
As I say.. nightmare.

Biden is in charge of a hopeless situation. I love the guy, but he's not a miracle worker.

The NVA tacitly gave us time to get Americans out of Saigon. I don't believe the Taliban are that civilized.

It remains to be seen if this ends in just the current mess that is forgotten in a month, or a worst case nightmare that destroys the Presidency.

Remember this is not a one off issue for Repugs to harvest for their campaigns.....they are tying it to 'high crime', defund the police, and their constant harping that our borders are a disaster.

Drip, drip, drip Repug ads as how Biden can not make us safer....might just take away suburban women voters.

The public has a very short memory for most things. If it didn't happen in the last three months, it might as well not have happened at all.

I don't think TV stations would allow campaign commercials to show Afghans falling in mid-air from the evacuation airplanes. The other images we've seen are disturbing on some level but not compelling.

Now if the Taliban is stupid enough to schedule daily public execution of collaborators right before the mid-term elections, that could have a lot of impact.

cliches about patriarchal dominance, and used his whole sense of self to see what was staring him in the face. What he did was heroic, but he doesn’t need a wheelbarrow to carry his “balls of steel”. Many women have played a part in this. Tammy Duckworth, Medea Benjamin, Ilhan Omar, Gabby Giffords, Amy Goodman. This fetishization of male genitalia is what drives the right and the Capitol insurrectionists and the QANON crowd. And frankly it’s offensive. Let it go, please.

I'm disappointed that we're not talking about sunglasses.

Biden has a severe sensitivity to light, probably from untreated cataracts (I have the same issue).

Every time he gets into intense light, he squints so much that it's distracting from whatever he's trying to say.

His staff needs to do a better job of setting up speaking outside speaking venues so that the light isn't in his face. And measure how much light he can tolerate without needing to squint so they can adjust the indoor lighting appropriately.

He gives much better speeches when he's not fighting his light sensitivity.
