There are now 3 Dem led subcommittees on the withdrawal from Afghanistan

?s=20

New: Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Menendez (D-N.J.) says he’ll “seek a full accounting” of the Biden admin’s “flawed execution of the U.S. withdrawal.”

That makes *three* Dem-led Senate committees vowing oversight of how the Biden team bungled the withdrawal.

Menendez: “I am disappointed that the Biden administration clearly did not accurately assess the implications of a rapid U.S. withdrawal. We are now witnessing the horrifying results of many years of policy and intelligence failures.”

Menendez says the review will also look at how the Afghan army “collapsed so quickly,” calling it “astounding.”

“Congress was told repeatedly that the Afghan Defense and Security Forces were up to the task… The American and Afghan people clearly have not been told the truth…”

I hope they investigate Trump and Ghani as well . Why put the blame entirely on Biden when they don't know what happened?

that the IQ45 administration did such a wonderful job executing the withdrawal.

Under the same circumstances on the ground in Afghanistan, mind you.

Our side really is terrible at politics sometimes.

Not that we shouldn't investigate, we should ... but this is NOT smart framing.

It's not like MF45, his family, and his corrupt administration committed enough crimes to keep more than one committee busy. . .

Gotta find something to do.

I'm sure the pressure is coming from MIC to blame Biden. They won't have that money fountain that they've benefited from over the last 20 years. So IMHO this is all about money. That's why we see this piling on of Biden.

Actually it took a lot of courage on Biden's part to end this war. During its duration - 4 other Presidents were not willing to take the heat that Biden is taking for this now. They knew that they would have faced what Biden is facing now by way of criticism. So they took the easier way out. They basically lied to us.

Think of what we could have done here in the U.S. with all the money that went into this Afghanistan war.

Wars are messy to begin with. Ending them also happens to be messy.

Whether we pulled out of Afghanistan fast or pulled out slow or more controlled - the results would be pretty much the same.

I believe the Biden Administration will ultimately handle this withdrawal well.

Pulling out slower would have just prolonged the trepidation and agony.
