Turned in my ballot for the California recall

Wife and I put them in the mail yesterday. There wasn't much of a strong inclination to vote for any replacement, as Newsom was clearly the best candidate on the ballot. That being said, I wrote in my first choice in the primaries, Antonio Villaragosa, after I voted "no"for the recall. Anybody else turn in their ballot yet?

If this is a mail in election why are so many worried about turnout? honest.abe Aug 2021 #1
I suppose in this case, turning in the ballot means "show up"? ColinC Aug 2021 #2
So some Dems can't be bothered to simply drop off their ballot in a mail box?? honest.abe Aug 2021 #4
I'm pretty sure if I wasn't highly motivated, it would have been something that was just on the back ColinC Aug 2021 #6

I keep reading that the Repubs are more motivated to show up. If its mail in who needs to show up?

I find that hard to believe in such an important election.

Of my mind until somebody strongly encouraged me to turn it in. Unfortunately, the GOP has an advantage on door knockers, etc who can motivate even the ones who didn't get around to turning in their ballots before the election.

2 minutes, to mark ONE box and mail the ballot back in, then we deserve to lose the recall election and get some kook, like Larry Elder, as our next Governor.

Just like vaccinated people can't understand why otherwise-healthy people refuse the Covid vaccine.

It just seems to me that most Republicans vote, because it's what's done; Democrats are more likely to need to be motivated, amused, inspired, and need nice weather.

Get out and vote. Or sit at home in your robe and fuzzy slippers, and vote. Just vote.

Not that it’s incorrect or invalidating, but strategically Newsome is discouraging people from selecting anyone. You’re just supposed to vote No.Not really sure wat the rationale is for that but that’s wat I’ll do.

If he's your only choice, then why vote for anybody else? In a way that makes a lot of sense. But in the happenstance that the recall succeeds, I want there to be a chance that my preferred candidate wins.

It really is absurd that he can get close to a majority of the vote and somebody who gets a small plurality could still win.
