I called not expecting to get it and the lady said she had just gotten the go ahead email. Ill be 73 next month.

(18,402 posts)My daughter called her doctor the other day to see if she should get the booster because she suffers from a severe autoimmune disease. He said that according to the rules, which currently allow only for transplant recipients, certain patients on specific cancer chemo regimes, etc., that she technically was not eligible to receive the booster yet.
But then he said that she could go on her own to a CVS and probably would get one. I think he was saying that he could not order the vaccine at the hospital, because she is not in the current CDC guidelines, even though she is severely immunocompromised. Go figure. I guess the pharmacies dont ask.
Still, I think we all should follow the government guidelines and wait our turns for boosters.
