Texas couple who declined to get covid vaccine die, leaving four children orphans

Lydia Rodriguez, 42, died on Monday, two weeks after her 49-year-old husband also died of covid in an ICU bed a few feet from hers.

A few weeks ago, Lydia Rodriguez thought her body was strong enough to fight the coronavirus without the vaccine.

But after a week-long church camp, she and other members of her family tested positive for the coronavirus. By the time Rodriguez, 42, changed her mind and asked for the shot, it was too late, her doctor said. A ventilator awaited her, her cousin Dottie Jones told The Washington Post.

The rest is behind a paywall.

Turning your children into orphans in order to prove an idiotic point. Humanity doesn't get much lower than that...

Putting their lives in the hands of their invisible daddy instead of doctors...Here is my suggested protocol:

When received at the ER, they should be sent to their church to take their chances with prayer. The preacher conman can empty the Tupperware bedpans while they lay in the pews.

Jeebus is killing way too many of us!

Clearly, people are free to believe ANYTHING they want. They ARE NOT FREE to kill people by the hundreds of thousands. If anyone dies from their willful contagion, they are guilty of homicide.

I hope that the church is disbanded, or at least, they face a large civil suit for the children's future care...

My heart goes out to the kids...a tragic, totally avoidable situation...

to the hospital.

Clearly it’d be useful for the government to reach out via traditional media, social media, billboards, etc to educate people that it’s too late once you’re in the hospital to ask for the vaccine.

Mind boggling.

It is a preventative. So giving it after a person is infected is truly closing the barn door after the horses have galloped on down to the pasture, jumped the fence and ran away to the farm down the road. Oh, and they kicked over a bucket of hot coals on their way out and the barn is in flames. 🙄

Out of options, the Galveston, Tex., mother of four, asked her family to make a promise: “Please make sure my kids get vaccinated,” Rodriguez, a piano teacher, told her sister during their last phone call.

Rodriguez died Monday — two weeks after her husband, Lawrence Rodriguez, 49, also died after coronavirus complications. The couple fought the virus from hospital beds just a few feet from one another in a Texas intensive care unit, Jones said.

Lydia and Lawrence Rodriguez, who were married for 21 years, were among the tens of millions of Americans who have not yet received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, which is available free to anyone over the age of 12. Health officials have stressed that the vaccine significantly lowers one’s chance of becoming severely ill or dying of the virus. The now-orphaned children of the Rodriguez family join the millions tragically affected by the sometimes deadly illness.
