Jeff Toobin should stick to whacking off during zoom calls

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin ripped over column arguing against prosecuting Trump

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin is facing backlash on social media over a column urging Attorney General Merrick Garland not to seek criminal prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Toobin — who got fired from the New Yorker last year for masturbating on a Zoom call, but who was reinstated by CNN after a brief leave of absence — argued that while Trump’s conduct in office was “disgraceful and wrong,” there also is a lack of sufficient evidence for the attorney general to pursue any criminal charges against the former president.

Investigations of presidential wrongdoing, by Congress and others, are wise and even necessary,” Toobin concluded. “But actual prosecutions are not, and Donald Trump should be the beneficiary of this tradition, even if he himself would surely not offer such grace to others.”

That didn’t sit well with left-leaning talking heads, who called for a boycott of Toobin on Twitter, even as they spun theories about the legal analyst’s motives. Many accused Toobin of mounting a cheap publicity stunt as he argued that there wasn’t enough evidence to bring a case against Trump over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

No wonder Maddow wants out of MSM.

says AG Garland shouldn’t even investigate Trump’s role in the seditious insurrection because “the leading precedent … comes from a case from 1863!” Hmmm. Could that maybe be because. . . wait for it: This is the first insurrection we’ve had since the Civil War?

Barb McQuade
Could not disagree more. This assumes intent cannot be proven if someone lies about his own. No other criminals get that kind of pass. Trump shouldn’t, either. There’s more than enough predication to investigate and a substantial federal interest in protecting election

Joyce Vance:
Toobin makes the remarkably wrong claim that “based on the available evidence, there is no basis to prosecute Trump & little reason” to investigate. Of course, he doesn’t know all of the evidence DOJ possesses & “little reason” is enough to investigate.

7. How would Toobin know there's a lack of sufficient evidence to pursue charges?

And where did he get this idea that investigations are wise and even necessary, but actual prosecutions aren't, and TFG should also be the beneficiary of this tradition?

It's essentially support for TFG's claim that the president is above the law...Republican presidents at least.

it is because he and his team engaged in a massive cover up and obstruction of justice. That's what what Mueller concluded - he couldn't prove anything because he had been obstructed.

12. Trump was saying the election was fraudulent months before the election! I'm sure

he was looking at internal polling or any kind of polling at that point and saw that he probably was going to lose so the fraud thing was his way of fighting an election that was going to send him home.

And as far as people only committing crimes when others can't see - I've watched too many murders on Youtube to fall for that.
