(82,849 posts)Cain was a Covid-19 denier who attended the former guy's Tulsa rally, one of the first large-scale gatherings during the summer of 2020. Oh, they were pwning the libs left and right that day! Herman Cain got infected, got hospitalized, and then got dead. And the Cain Awards were born. Covid-19 denier gets sick? Cain Award Nominee. Dies like Steve Walsh? Cain Award Recipient.
There is no actual award that I'm aware of, but the ironic symbolism more than makes up for the lack of hardware.

(138 posts)..so, being welcomed (?) into the arms of his Lord and Savior?
Well, let's take a look at what Jesus said, if you're given to such Bible passages:
Matthew 7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Point being, for those who believe this stuff, they have to understand it's a double-edged sword - this same Jesus who forgave harlots, and allowed non-Jews to receive the scraps from the table, also threw out money-changers, and condemned those in power who did NOTHING to help those in need.
So, Mr. Walsh - good fucking luck on the Jesus encounter.

(6,820 posts)They only do Acts, where it goes on about how people talked in tongues on the day of Pentecost.
They:
1. go to the megachurch at 10:00 am every Sunday
2. wave their arms in the air and say hally-loo-yuh a whole lot
3. jabber nonsensically until some of them fall down and wiggle
4. put cash in the plate, never forget to put your cash in the plate, Jayzuss CAN count and multiply by 10%
By lunch time, they're good. Good with Jayzuss and ready for whatever made up line of crap the pastor tells them. How to vote, how to live, who to hate and how to die.

(138 posts)George Carlin said it best: "There's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do, every minute of every day... [he has a] special list of 10 things he does NOT want you to do. And if you do ANY of these 10 things he has a special place - full of fire, and smoke and burning, and torture and anguish where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever til the end of time.. but he loves you! .. he loves you and he NEEDS MONEY... he's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, all wise; somehow - just can't handle money.

(790 posts)Some gourd brains have not yet learned the folly of politicizing a deadly, super contagious pathogen. The virus does not vote nor does it give one twit about anyone's "freedums." By now they should have learned this lesson, but have chosen not to. They are simply too puffed up with self-importance to learn it -- even as they are surrounded every day by the evidence of the devastation. It was God who gave us the gift of the scientists who forged the tools to protect ourselves.
We won't be able to move in front of this virus, until we respect its power.
It's a lot easier to get the vaccine and wear masks then it is to be intubated.
And my favorite Covid-19 quotation comes from Dr. Anthony Fauci himself. "The virus decides."

(16,389 posts)The rest can be easily googled.
"Steve Walsh, press secretary to US Senate candidate, Rep. Vicky Hartzler, and husband of anti-vax MO State Rep. and congressional candidate Sara Walsh, has just died of covid."
He's married to a MO state rep, who is antivax. MO is a very red state, and in the age of covid, antivax=Republican.
10 seconds of googling (more or less) pulled up this: "Vicky Jo Hartzler is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Missouri's 4th congressional district since 2011. A member of the Republican Party..."
Another quick search confirmed that Walsh is also Republican (not that there was any doubt).
I'm not sure whose opponent you're asking about (Hartzler's or Walsh's), but considering the midterms are still a ways off, we'd talking about the GOP primaries at this point, so honestly, who the hell even cares?

(47,476 posts)I was asking which party is Hartzler.
I suppose, for sentence structure, the subject it Steve Walsh but inserting Hartzler was confusing to me.

(12,423 posts)I'm not saying this particular case was murder-by-COVID but it makes you wonder if any psychopaths out there might get vaxxed, go to a superspreader, then return home to infect their anti-vax spouses, bosses, rivals, whatever. It would be the perfect crime and all it really needs is an established milieu of anti-vax sentiment. Just another reason why the anti-vax crap is so insidious and dangerous.

A handy chart showing the players and their claims vs COVID would make quite a display. Something with lots of visibility along the lines of the Doomsday clock or the National Debt Counter is what I had in mind. It would be a handy visual reference for the talking hair-do's on MSM news.
