(65,212 posts)Is that number right?
According to this Pew poll from April 60% support total legalization & 31% more for medical use only.
That's 91% of adults. That's WAY more than 8 million.

Thats why @SenBooker, @RonWyden, and I released our Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act to work to end the federal prohibition and undo the harms of the War on Drugs.

(65,212 posts)I agree.
In the posted snip, it looked to me like 8m as in 8M.
The small "m" should have been my first clue.
I could have deleted, but I thought it was worth reposting the poll from Pew.

(16,858 posts)They get paid according to how many people they have locked up, and making weed legal would affect their bottom lines. They suck up tax money like the weapons manufacturers who didn't want the war in Afghanistan to end. We'll see who supports and who opposes this bill and if they get contributions from private prisons or any other industry that benefits from locking people up.

(24,330 posts)She is completely off of opiods and feeling much better. She also uses it to help her sleep. She's 71 and never really used pot intil recent years. She has Asthma, so smoking it is not good. She has learned, with a little help from me, who smoked it for 50 years to make some fantastic cookies with pot butter.

Let's just hope that the Dems can make this happen.
