Tom Friedman on Afghanistan

Last edited Fri Aug 20, 2021, 09:32 AM - Edit history (1)

For better or worse, Tom Friedman is back from writing his book and is churning out new columns in the New York Times
He did recently cite two interesting statistics about Afghanistan. 75 percent of the population is under 25 and thus have no memory of the previous Taliban regime. 70 percent of the population have cell phones and are thus connected to the world, unlike 20 years ago.
Will any of this make any difference? I guess we will find out.

AMERICANS OCCUPYING their country their whole lives. Are their stories of life before occupation, and how do they feel about it.

Do they have Hope's and dreams for their country, or have these people been just surviving and have PTSD, from the chaos?
