Poison control calls spike as people take livestock dewormer to treat COVID-19

The Mississippi State Department of Health sent a health alert Friday warning health care providers about a drug used to deworm livestock that some are using to treat and prevent COVID-19.

According to the alert, the Mississippi Poison Control Center has received several calls related to the ingestion of ivermectin meant for livestock, which is causing illness in COVID-19 patients.

Ivermectin is approved for use in both people and animals, but animal drugs are highly concentrated and can be highly toxic in humans.

8. Ivermectinis also in heartworm medicine for dogs

I first read about it in March 2020. A study that had been done that showed ivermectin killed all of the coronavirus in a petri dish but it warned that didn’t mean it would work in human beings and it was unknown what kind of does it would take to kill coronavirus in humans. So I kept watching for more studies on it in about a year ago I finally found information on a study that showed that it had not worked for humans.

You call poison control when you have a desire to turn on Fox. If you ACT on that desire, then you need to call suicide prevention.
