(90,681 posts)CHICAGO Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. and his wife, Jacqueline Jackson have both tested positive for COVID-19 and are hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to a statement from Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
The statement read that doctors are currently monitoring their condition and that there are no further updates or information available.
Rainbow PUSH advises anyone who has had contact with either of them for the last five to six days to follow CDC guidelines and to isolate from others.

At the Rainbow Push website it says he's vaccinated. Got his first shot back in January. He wrote a post about it.

(30,811 posts)It seems celebrities are hospitalized even when they are only mildly sick, so I am hoping for the best.

(13,569 posts)Likely not, as Jesse is frail with Parkinson's despite his recent participation in a protest somewhere.
I was at Jesse's fiftieth birthday party in D.C. Seems like yesterday. He kissed my hand.

(128,965 posts)He'll be 80 this year and has been having health issues recently.
It is difficult for people who are "public figures" who either need to or have to or always want to be "out in public". It just makes you that much more vulnerable to this nasty variant.
I hope he can recover quickly and that the vaccine had he and his wife primed.
