President Biden provides an update on his administration's response to hurricane Henri and will possibly provide an update on the evacuation mission in Afghanistan.

(7,849 posts)and their never-ending opinion/gotcha questions...maybe if they'd just shut up and absorb the contents of what Joe is saying instead of slobbering all over themselves in anticipation of their ever-so-smart follow up zinger they might actually learn something...

(25,968 posts)There's no excuse for how the audience has to strain to hear the questions. Reporters called on by name, presumably because they are good at their jobs, were asking the same question (will the deadline change?) over and over. One asshole hack (Ed) brought up a poll that claims the majority of the US population thinks Joe's handling of Afghanistan has been incompetent. Joe's response was fantastic - a firm "I haven't seen that poll" and a pivot to facts about why and how we are leaving.
The best question was a random shoutout at the end which, surprisingly, Joe turned to answer. (Britain is asking for sanctions against the Taliban - do you agree? Joe: Depending on their conduct, yes. We'll see.)
Good presser on Joe's part. The media, on the other hand, is just abysmal.
