measures.

He choose to forge ahead, supposedly knowing the risks — political, human, 2022 elections, current legislation, etc. — were very high. Hope it works out.

Yeah, he was left with a load of crud from several admins. All the more reason to get it right. The decision to withdraw is maybe the easier part of this. In this case, he held some cards and still does if he and the “team” work it out.

He pulled off the scab.

Bad Joe.

Bad, bad, bad.

The MIC wanted trillions more, and Joe said no.

Now if America's heroin users stopped shooting up the Taliban will be broke, and come beggin' for pennies.

he should have been able to do that in 3 months, great. But he didn’t do it or address the nation to explain trump screwed up so badly and drew down the troops too low to get Americans and Afghans out.

So here we are, and may well be into 2022 election year with daily reports of tortured allies, beaten and raped women, etc.

I hope Biden pulls this off so it doesn’t hurt Democrats, Democratic legislation, etc. Didn’t have to be this way.

U.S. officials estimate that 90 to 94 percent of heroin consumed in the United States today comes from Mexico, which is now producing about 70 tons per year. Another four to six percent comes from Asia, principally Afghanistan, the origin of most heroin consumed elsewhere in the world. About two percent of heroin that reaches the United States comes from Colombia, and a negligible amount is made in Guatemala.

Distribution is not that easy. But what is the point? Afghans do not supply any real amount to the U.S. and if everyone stopped in the U.S. it would hurt the Mexican cartel but have no effect in Afghanistan.

Many of you are old enough to remember when we left Vietnam, and how messy THAT was. Nixon was President, and of course, he's a Repug. Joe made the decision to get our troops out without losing any more American lives. How the opposition reacts & how the military carries out their mission is not in his control.

I guess it's fun for the media to play military experts and fortune teller, but we have to chalk it all up to "everybody has an opinion" and stop blaming Biden for everything!

Note President Biden's campaign promise.

I'd really, *really* like somebody to point out where Biden dissed TFG's deal with the Taliban.

At this point, I doubt that's possible.

Now, keep in mind this was during a presidential campaign. Candidate A thinks that Candidate B's choice of fish tacos over achar ghost is a bad move, it's the subject of at least a comment, if not a speech.
