The five-day-a-week show will come to an end sometime next year as Maddow shifts gears to more of a weekly format, @brianstelter reports. http://cnn.it/2Wfejbb

Lawrence bores me, the other one is impossible to listen to.

(2,248 posts)If you can only catch TV at certain times, record Nicole Wallce (if that's an option) and watch her when you can.

(17,649 posts)Shes not bad but nothing like the journalist that Rachel is. Plus of course she was George Bushs press secretary.

(9,998 posts)I'm sorry that in order to keep her, they had to agree to kill of her 9 PM EST show.
With her gone from daily broadcasts, and Morons like Andrea Mitchell & Up Chuck Todd still there, I'll have less reason to watch that channel.
I'd have to say that Nicole Wallace will likely be my favorite full time host from now on. She seems to be safe, since they actually expanded her from 1 hour to 2, not long ago.

"Chuck, I must admit you may be the stupidest person I've ever met."
*me with confused look* "What the hell, Andrea? That doesn't even make sense."
Rick is shown the door. My tenure shorter than Scaramucci

I have a bone to pick with Nicole, and most msnbc hosts. It is their constant misrepresentation of BREAKING NEWS. Coinky dinky just last week I had a post on it, you can link to it below. Rather quickly, they put up 'fake' breaking news. Here is one example from my thread, dunno which show it was from:
1. BREAKING NEWS; Gymnasts go maskless in Miami. Then a short video of ~50 gymnasts riding exercise bikes (iirc), most all maskless. This is insulting. No more breaking news than a parking lot fender bender.
Some hosts, or their producers, evidently forbid fake breaking news. I rarely see it on Morning Joe/Mika or Rachel Maddow, tho on occasion is not a stigma. I have seen it to varying annoying degrees from 9am Stephanie to 11pm Brian Wms, including Todd, Melber, Mohedin, Joy, ODonnell, plus Nicole Wallace who seems to be the biggest offender. A typical Nicole show, not counting commercials or actual breaking news, is 75% or more fake breaking news. Shes a fine lady and announcer, but she really should stop and apologize. Whoever thought up this fake policy should be fired or demoted. Hosts must condone and know this is ongoing, how could they not? Nicole Wallace substituted for Rachel Maddow august 3rd & 5th, and not a fake breaking news did I see on Rachels 9pm hour, tho it abounds on Nicoles 4 - 6 pm show.

This is not to be confused with actual breaking news, or even borderline breaking news (eye rolls). Fake is reporting obvious ordinary mundane daily events with a flashing red light at the bottom of the rv screen 'Look Here! Look Here!.
Sorry, but when I see fake breaking news on MSNBC, I generally change the channel, often to CNN which does not emply much at all Fake BREAKING NEWS.

(35,662 posts)How long she could keep up the pace and maintain the quality of her show. It had to be absolutely grueling.
If this is more manageable for her, Im happy to see it.
Chris Hayes will be my go to show, and Ill probably just watch less.

(21,865 posts)Chris Cuomo, for example, puts as much effort into his show. Sure they have staff people working and doing research on the shows every day but I get the feeling Rachel puts more, personally, into her show that almost any other host on any news channel. I think she is awesome.

(9,988 posts)when her wife had a bad case of Covid last year. If that's true, I totally get that. Whatever she chooses to do, THANK YOU Rachel for your service to this country.

(14,176 posts)and there'll be a general reshuffling of MSNBC's prime time lineup. I can imagine Brian Williams moving earlier and MSNBC moving on from Chris Hayes because his show is almost always in third place, although it's not necessarily the move I'd prefer.
