I'm looking for environmentally friendly TP so I'm sharing what I'm learning.

I'm kind of disgusted that I have been using Scott for so many years and they are one of the worst. But I do use the Bidet so I don't use that much TP.

This is information from the National resource defense counsel

https://www.greenmatters.com/p/sustainable-toilet-paper

According to the report, titled “The Issue with Tissue,” the five brands that got "F" scores are: Charmin, Kirkland Signature (Costco's in-house brand), Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, and Up&Up Soft & Strong (Target's in-house brand). The brands that got "D" scores are: 365 Everyday Value's Sustainably Soft (Whole Foods' in-house brand), Cottonelle, Scott (both 1,000 and Comfort Plus), and Trader Joe's Super Soft Bath Tissue.

The report found that Procter & Gamble (which owns Charmin), Kimberly-Clark (which owns Scott), and Georgia-Pacific (which owns Angel Soft and Quilted Northern) do not use any recycled content in their toilet paper. Instead, these brands get their paper by clear-cutting the Canadian boreal forest, aka the “Amazon of the North.” According to a study published on Statista, Georgia-Pacific, Procter & Gamble, and Kimberly Clark made up nearly 80 percent of toilet paper sales in the U.S. in 2017, making it clear just how much power those corporations have. Not to mention, Amazon's top 26 best-selling toilet papers are all brands that scored "D" and "F" grades, with the exception of a few Amazon brand TPs.
----------------------------

"Anthony Swift, director, Canada Project, NRDC, said: “Most Americans probably do not know that the toilet paper they flush away comes from ancient forests, but clear-cutting those forests is costing the planet a great deal. Maintaining the Canadian boreal forest is vital to avoiding the worst impacts of climate change.”

When that was not available during the pandemic, our store had another off-brand but 100% recycled paper choice.

The other thing to remember about Georgia Pacific products (and another reason not to buy them) is that they are owned by the Koch brothers.

I think it's the corn husks (the corn leaves on the cob) that were used as a substitute toilet paper. The cobs were used for something else. I don't remember what.

Bought on from tushy.com at the beginning of the great TP shortage and it has been life changing. I use a fraction of the tp previously and its a better way to get moving in the morning than a double espresso.

Unless you live in the arctic, don't even bother with the hot water ones. The cold water ones are easier to install and frankly the cold feels refreshing.

Your tush will be cleaner than ever, your TP needs will crater, and you'll feel great.

is probably coming from clear-cut "ancient forests" when all the commercial planted and harvested forests here in the SE must be used for something, but needs looking into.
