I grew up in rural SW MO. in the 50's and 60's. I had no idea that the seeds of this current batshittery were present then. How does a community move forward when a solid fraction of the people there have shown a death wish for themselves, their family members, friends, and everybody around them?

(17,718 posts)If it wasn't centered on Covid, it would be something else. Their golden boy was able to turn a medical issue into a political issue, with his people on one side and you on the other. Nothing matters but winning, even if a million Americans end up dead.
I see it here in the Deep South...in spades.
