CNN sucks! They've shown the SAME five pictures six or seven times in the last minute...

...at the airport, and doing it over and over and over again. What's the point?

They're quickly losing what little credibility they had left.

Andrea Mitchell (MSNBC), thank the heavens for France24, BBC, CBC, Guardian etc....
Edited to add, second blast, Barron Hotel, which is the Brit's current evacuation point. Canada's last flight left a few hours ago, as with the German's last flight.

Pentagon says there are a number of US and civilian casualties

A Pentagon spokesperson has said that the bombing at Kabul airport has resulted in a number of US and civilian casualties and was the result of a "complex attack".

They are usually very fast in reporting breaking news.

I think BBC is better for the same reasons

Or turn off the TV

The US is trying to run a massive evacuation from a country in the Middle East and now terrorists have attacked - reportedly killing some Americans?

Yeah... that's going to be the only thing on the news for a while - no matter who is in the White House. You'll be lucky if it doesn't interrupt your weather reports.

it is how it is presented. Create a perception and you create a reality has never been more obvious, but people continue to imbibe whatever drivel their given, and not question what is really going on. Good, bad, or indifferent, the news does not need to weaponized, nor are there two sides. Opinions are not facts. My news channels get interrupted for things like golf matches. Don't know if this will rise to that amount of importance. All about perception.

I turn them all off and read the papers, which, in my view, are better sources of information.

I never said anything about this particular story. I was commenting on the nature of cable news. I don’t have to watch to know that they care more about ratings than news. That’s not going to change anytime soon.

Many people, including the President, have said that terror attacks were a strong possibility. The airport just isn't as secure as it needs to be. That's not Biden's fault, or our military's fault, it's just the reality they're working within. I hope they can get more people out of there before the 31st, but now there will be people who will either want us to abandon the effort, and then there will be people who want us to get more involved. I hope Biden doesn't listen to the latter group of people.

into the media beating dead horses. Then came planes flying into the World Trade Center, and the "Dean Scream", The "Swift-boaters for truth", and "Reverend Wright". I've been tuning out since then, for the most part. Took a long time.
