1. We in the reality-based universe largely believe that the greatest impact, i.e., deaths, as been on red staters, probably mostly in red states. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ is showing total US deaths at around 650,000. Has anyone done a study of the actual, real-life impact those deaths will have on voting outcomes in 2022 and beyond? Granted, a portion of those deaths were among elderly Americans who might not have taken or had the opportunity to vote. More, especially now, are young Americans. But, overall, did the GQP actually lose hundreds of thousands of voters. No need to address the issue of RW voters' reactions to the deaths of prominent anti-vaxxers. These morons will continue to vote Q regardless of. . . well. . . regardless of anything.
2. FDA Approval. I read the other day that more than 200 million vaccines have been administered in the US. Pfizer has now received FDA approval. What is delaying the FDA approval of the J&J and Moderna vaccines? Aren't these enough to conclude that the efficacy is high and side effects minimal enough to warrant approval? What more could the FDA possibly require?

(37,999 posts)AFAIK, people 40 and over are the most reliable when it comes to voting.
First of all, despite what my kids say, I'm not yet elderly.
When I wrote that I was thinking of people in nursing homes. I don't know the voting records of people in those situations. I was just trying to think about a demographic that might not be committed/current voters and that might have been in that 650,000 figure since the start of the pandemic.

New Jersey .3017%

Mississippi .2760%
Massachusetts .2640%
I wonder if the right wing was hoping New York would turn red due to Covid deaths?
The actual number of people dead and percentage of population is not going to make a dent in elections.
No state has even hit 1%...
Wake me up when Florida and Texas hit 5%, then we're talking. Florida would need 1,073,643 to die. Texas would need 1,445,560. They would both need 25 times more people to die....
I wish people would stop with this.....
It's pretty disgusting...
