CNN just reported that "a number of US service members have been killed."

So tragic. My condolences to the families of those who were killed. And just as tragically, Afghans were killed. Equal condolences to the families of dead Afghans.

Thank God we have a level head in the White House to deal with this. I can't even begin to imagine what would happen if Trump were still in office.

We were doing so well getting people out. But we knew this was coming.....dammit to hell. And damn tfg and all his minions to everlasting hell! And Darth Cheney, who orchestrated the whole debacle, especially.

My father flew combat in Viet Nam.

I don't think civilians understand at all what war is like.

Did they really think we could exit Afghanistan like people were disembarking from a cruise ship?

Yes my heart goes out to the troops. They knew it could be deadly even at the end of the war.

It's tragic to be sure, but Marines in a War Zone ... they get killed from time to time.

When it happened in the last 20 years, it barely rated a news story.

But now the media will go into a feeding frenzy and pretend like they care SO MUCH about these 4 soldiers.

It's going to be freaking nauseating, and I'm only going to read about it here, not watch it.

I don't know about the media but I for one do care about the 12 dead Americans and about the number of Afghans killed. Don't you?

with 0 casualties during the process.

It's a war zone in which we've lost 2000 people since 2006 (many more before that).

I'm speaking specifically of the way the Media will react to it, and Biden's enemies.

There will be a lack of perspective over the fact that, had we stayed, we'd have continued to lose soldiers as well, just as we have been for 20 years.

I am not saying that this necessarily apples to you, but it seems to me that too many DUers are more concerned about any political damage that this may cause President Biden rather than having concern for the victims of this tragedy.
