I've posted before that Afghanistan is not a country but a collection of warlords vying with each other for territory. There is no central government and there never will be. The warlords band together under the concept of 'the enemy of our enemy is our friend' to defeat any empire and then go back to bickering with each other over picayune differences.
So, as the US withdraws ISIS attacks Taliban check points around the Kabul airport. We are victims but not the real target of this attack---the Taliban was providing security for the exit and THEY were attacked.

They would probably like nothing more than to start a firefight between Taliban forces and the U.S.
