A Texas man who helped organize protests against pandemic restrictions is fighting for his life after being hospitalized for nearly a month with COVID-19, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported.
His wife, Jessica Wallace, wrote Wednesday on Facebook that she had a heartbreaking update about her husband, Caleb.
Hes not doing good. Its not looking in our favor, she said. His lungs are stiff due to the fibrosis. They called and said theyve run out of options for him and asked if I would consent to a do not resuscitate. And it would be up to us when to stop treatments.
My heart just cant. I cant imagine my life without him.
Caleb Wallace, a 30-year-old father of three, has been unconscious, ventilated and heavily sedated in the ICU at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo since Aug. 8, the Standard-Times reported. His wife said on a GoFundMe page for household and medical bills that he was was intubated multiple times, had high fevers, infection and bleeding in his chest.

(47,427 posts)but he has three young children. I cannot condone his irresponsible behavior, but still I hate to see anyone unnecessarily go through such pain and loss.
We are all responsible for our own actions, but the ultimate blame must go to the purveyors of these deadly lies, many who know they are lies and keep telling them for political or financial gain.

(5,897 posts)If hed been vaccinated, then yes, he might have survived. But now hes just another dumbass whos costing society a huge amount of medical expenses, and hes going to die anyway because of the poor choices he made.
Sorry, I just cant muster any sympathy for him or even for his family.
wnylib
(21,447 posts)been better if he had bern vaccinated, but actually, I was referring to the fact that, once he had symptoms, he refused to be tested and insisted on treating himself with zinc, vitamin C, and animal medicine pills. If he had sought medical treatment earlier in his illness, he might have survived.
So, he made the choice to refuse vaccines and masks, and chose again to refuse treatment when sick. He got the freedom that he wanted. I guess thst's all that mattered to him. More important to him than his family or than life itself. It would make a good epitaph. "He died for the right to refuse to live."

(51,590 posts)It's almost as if he wanted to harm kids, even his own. I hope he can't get any money to help him out. He doesn't deserve it.

(21,447 posts)that money could provide. When he dies, it will be his wife and children who will suffer from the medical costs. What will go through the minds of the children, seeing how wrong their father was and how much harm he brought to his family? Besides growing up fatherless, they will live in poverty and in doubt about believing what adults tell them.

(14,856 posts)There are way too many people having to put off important medical procedures, because the hospitals are stuffed with these unvaccinated fuckers occupying beds for weeks.
They should be tossed in parking lots. Let people who actually need medical procedures and actual life threatening sicknesses get the hospital beds. Antivaxxers? Fuck em, they made their choice. Let them reap it and die in a parking lot

(21,447 posts)I have been wondering what effect they have on the followers of anti maskers who advocate home remedies for the sick and who claim that covid is no worse than the flu. How many people who attended those rallies recognize the evidence in front of them and rethink what they believed? How many realize that masks and vaccines are not a "freedom" issue, but a public health issue? Do any of them come to regret accepting ideas and actions that they can now see are killing people?

(19,064 posts)But his family doesn't deserve to lose him.
This clown is responsible for death, a simple mask could have saved his life. A free vaccine could have saved his life. His death is pointless except that maybe others can learn from it.
But you can tell his wife wasn't on board with his craziness, and his kids deserve a father. What a shame. What I fail to see over and over is these people directing their anger at the Republican leaders who lied to them about Covid.
