Withdrawing from Afghanistan was a clusterf**k from its inception.

If US personnel and military were taken out of the country months ago, the Afghani government would have been weakened and fallen sooner.

As the majority of Americans and Afghanis have been leaving later-than-sooner, the threat of interference by the Taliban and ISIS was already calculated into the plan. Even as a potential threat.

The Pentagon had a choice of accepting injury and death of Americans and Afghanis while trying to airlift them out of the country or starting a new war. That's called a dilemma as both options suck.

stopping a suicide bomber in a crowd of thousands is pretty damn hard to do.

How does that sound?

It's easy to criticize from the sidelines, but very, very hard to lead in ways that everyone thinks are wonderful.

So, let's start with a list of your qualifications to lead our military strategy decisions.

It seems obvious there was not going to be a neat & tidy way of extracting troops and civilians and citizens with the deal that Trump made with the Taliban. And the acting non-Taliban Afghani government and military were not ready for a sweep of the country by the Taliban. Biden's hands were tied from the beginning.
