http://www.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/20220112id_theft_at_polls_stuns_nh_widow/A grieving New Hampshire widow said she was stunned to learn her beloved husbands identity was used for a political gotcha just 10 days after his death.
Thats awful, Rachel Groux said. Why should they use his name? They shouldnt use anybodys name alive or deceased.
Activist filmmaker James OKeefe secretly recorded video showing his operative using Roger Grouxs name and address to obtain a Republican ballot at Manchester polls Tuesday. The U.S. Navy veteran died Dec. 31 at an assisted living home. His family held funeral services Monday, his widow said. Oh my God, I know what he would say, Call the cops, call the police, Rachel Groux said.
City officials may have not received notification in time to remove Groux from voter lists, said Manchester City Clerk Matthew Normand.

O'Keefe is despicable.

(13,200 posts)Negligent infliction of emotional distress is a claim that is not widely accepted by many states and jurisdictions. The legal concept is that Person A owes a duty of care to Person B to take reasonable care to avoid causing emotional distress or injury. Many states have shunned the theory of negligent infliction of emotional distress since it is difficult to define and quantify.
I believe that negligent infliction of emotional distress is accepted in NH

(21,977 posts)I think all states recognize that. Some call it the tort of "outrage" (KY, e.g.).

(21,977 posts)You can infer intent from recklessness. I'd give it a shot. You're not going to get Rule 11 sanctions for it, and it might fly. And O'Keefe has to spend time and money defending it.

Maybe 'two-bit attention whore' might be a more accurate description...?
An activist by definition is trying to make change.
He just seems to want to cause pain and trouble to people.

(37,449 posts)there isn't any way other than a registered voter list to obtain the political party registration so he had to have someone get him a list. I can seach 30-60-90-or even a year + out and find obituary listings. Its apparent he wanted to be cute none of these are more that 6 months out.
