Thats an insane drop in pressure in the last 3 hours. Like 12mb's. Hasn't been verified. Looks like 932-935mb's. Sustained 1 minute surface winds of 145.

I often get migraines when a low pressure system is moving in. A friend of mine gets them as they move out. On top of all the stress involved in trying to prepare for the storm and trying to get some sleep, I really didn't need a migraine.

935mb's on their drop. I would say the NHC will confirm that by 8am CDT in their update. They probably needed verification of the first drop because thats a huge drop in Pressure for a cane in 3 hours. Winds are gonna catch up in about 6 hours. Be safe!!

The level of destruction a big storm can do is mind boggling. Places like Golden Meadows, Fouchon, and Grand Island will never be the same.

I'm in Lakeview in New Orleans and it's not too bad yet. Some powerful wind gusts, but not much rain yet. Power is still on, but probably not for much longer.

Better to take a direct hit than be on the east side of it.

Said the same thing. They do have provisions & a generator. She's more worried about the wind damage than water, though her brothers did put sandbags around the exterior doors.
