(32,126 posts)Unbelievable to me that folks are still gathering for events indoors, not distancing, and unmasked. Especially when you dont know whos been vaccinated and who hasnt.

(4,455 posts)and there's no way I'm attending. They're having it at a golf course, which will profit the classmate who owns the course, and they'll be sitting close together in the bar all evening. As soon as I got the details I messaged back and said I wasn't going to attend.

(26,309 posts)Supposedly the meal was served outside but the main part of the gathering was inside. Total recipe for disaster that I hope and pray doesn't happen. Most of those attending are really good people who just let nostalgia overcome common sense.

..at the Elks Club in my hometown, indoors, in Southeastern Los Angeles County. Lots of default republicans in Orange Co. because we came of age under Raygun.
Saw my buddies in June, when travel was safer, and we thought we were past the worst. Most of them vaccinated, sans one with a family reaction to vaccines.
I've booked my flights, but am waiting and seeing. Methinks back to school is going to ratchet up the cases and deaths everywhere. I'd love to see everyone, but not at this price.
