Welp, just sent them an email. Will no longer shop there.
How can they pretend to care about their customers' health (organics, supplements) when their employees don't mask!
Clerk told me it was my choice, when I told her I am only shopping where they mask.
Umm...it's actually the law here. Guess they feel they have the right to pick and choose which public health safety laws to follow!

I wouldn't shop there any more either.

Plus they have all the knowledge that will help if someone does get it they unfortunately think.
A lot of propaganda also with some fitness places (which I have only heard about as I have not returned ) where people together are not masking or spacing . Again , they think they are exempt because in shape, so no harm , which is not true
Here its a state mandate again
Real turn off to shop at a lot of local businesses these days its sad to say
Whole Foods if I need something I can t get on line or at a larger grocer which I hate to use these places but they at least seem to have employees who arent flaunting their We dont care it wont hit us attitude and the bigger businesses seem to be masking and following safe protocols here

(45,442 posts)it can be very irritating to see these people use only their natural treatments on a loved one to prolong their suffering for something that modern medicine can treat very quickly. This is true of mental health and physical health.
A hippy ex-friend of mine stubbornly believes in herbal birth control and has had a lot of unplanned pregnancies. She claims to have a latex allergy but doesn't trust polyisoprene condoms either.

(1,568 posts)From wearing masks. Thats just a political statement.
FalloutShelter
(11,866 posts)when you are wearing a mask you are exhaling impurities, especially carbon monoxide, into your mask and then re-breathing them and making yourself sick.
This is their mask objection, especially for children.

(1,568 posts)I'm confused by these "you can't wear a mask either!!!" types. It's also like those people who protest the routine testing for the unvaccinated. They don't even attempt to make sense.

(32,639 posts)Many stores offer the ability to order items online, pay by credit card and then you drive to the store and wait outside in the designated parking area. A store employee will bring the purchased items out to your car for you. I can think of several grocery stores that do this, also pharmacy/drug stores, and a few Target-type general stores. We have several restaurants in the area (not just fast food) offer the same, but you probably have to park and go inside to pickup your food order.
At Pittsburgh-area stores, the employees are all still wearing masks however the customers have gotten more lax during the summer months. I have a feeling that the customers' masks will come back on very quickly in the fall.

(67,782 posts)....yesterday - all THREE employees behind the counter were unmasked. Will be calling my contact at the town tomorrow to report it.
There is also specialty Italian place (coincidentally next door!) where they didn't wear masks earlier this year, I never went back.
Finally, one guy at the local IGA never wore a mask. I took a photo and sent it to them. Next time he had it tight around his nose/mouth. But after the mask mandate was cancelled in the spring and reinstated a week ago, back to no mask. Will be contacting them again, too.
I don't give a crap about this - follow the town mandate or get fined and lose my business.

(28,076 posts)And that is true of a grocery store I like, thought it's a little more expensive (it's a Lunds for anyone familiar with grocery stores in the Mpls/St Paul area).
Meanwhile, I stopped by the discount grocery store in my neighborhood that I can actually walk to, and hardly anyone was wearing masks. (That would be a Cub store, again for anyone in my area).

(1,568 posts)But there are still enough not only going maskless, but also not keeping their distance. I bought some N95 masks because of it.

(1,166 posts)the very beginning.
They never mandated masks; even when the city did, they never enforced the mandate. When I complained to the manager, I was told that that was company policy. It was impossible to get through to corporate to complain (I was going to go full Karen), so I finally gave up and started doing all of my shopping at Costco and Trader Joe's, even though they're nearly two hours away.
The last time I went, about a month ago, no one, not even the employees, was wearing a mask there. I go very, very infrequently these days.

(11,605 posts)And I was surprised that most store employees and customers were not wearing masks. I think I was the only one wearing one in one of the stores. I do live in one of the most heavily vaccinated counties in the country, though, so I wasn't super worried.

(16,396 posts)I don't know if anyone has already suggested that, because I haven't had time yet to read all the comments. But I am a strong believer in reporting these kinds of infractions.
If they have broken the law, as you say, they deserve to be reported to whatever authorities handle things like this. Even if the penalties are very small or even nonexistent, reporting them should result in some inconvenience, at least.
I know there are places where laws like this are not being enforced at all, and if you live in a place like that, feel free to ignore this. I hope that's not the case, but at least you did the right thing by bringing it up to them. Good luck!
