* Sasse is a flaming asshole liar
Senator Sasse on 'This Week':
...they decided to outsource security around the perimeter of the airport to the Taliban. They passed a list of American citizens and America's closet allies, people who fought alongside us, they passed those lists to the Taliban, relying on them, thinking they could trust on them.
No Benny boy, the Taliban was NOT in charge of security around the perimeter of the airport. At most, the Taliban was involved with crowd control. The U.S. military performs its own security.
No, there was no list of American citizens and America's allies. There was merely a small list of people on a bus approaching the airport, not all of which had their documentation with them, which they wanted to make sure the Taliban did not prevent from entering the airport. The administration does not trust the Taliban.
* Chuck Todd Can't Help Himself
Secretary of State Blinken:
we have other ways and mechanisms to get people out of Afghanistan after Sept 1st
Chuck Todd: What are those ways and mechanisms?
Sure chuck, the Secretary of State is gonna tell you live on the air all routes they intend to use and all the secret arrangements they're making.
Sheez, what an idiot!
~
Then Chuck Todd reads a letter to Blinken from Steve Nikoui, Father of Marine Lance CPL Kareem Nikoui:
They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security. I blame my own military leaders. ... Biden turned his back on him. That's it.
No Steve, the Taliban was not outside providing security. Obviously you're spending too much time watching RightWing media.
* David Brooks Again
From PBS Newshour
Amna Nawaz: What do you make of how he [Biden] is handling this moment in his presidency?
David Brooks: I think very poorly. I thought the decision to leave was a mistake. I thought we had achieved some level of stability, and we could manage the problem. And I think we just invited the downfall.
ANYONE claiming we should have kept a few thousand troops there is merely a foot in the door to staying another decade. You're hearing this from those on the payroll of the Military Industrial Complex, those paid to be on TV mouthpieces for the Military Industrial Complex, lobbyists for the Military Industrial Complex, or those simply carrying water for the Military Industrial Complex.
And I thought, over the last year, we had 2, 500 people in there. They were not in combat roles. We hadn't had a combat fatality in a year or more. And we were we and our allies were providing a measure of stability for decency to live in Afghanistan.
That's only because Donnie made the deal that if the Taliban didn't attack, the military would be out by May 1st, so that "measure of stability" was imaginary.
