But I still feel bad now for those whose parents named them Karen. It was a fairly popular name in a certain age group, especially mine. I have a cousin and a former roommate who were named Karen and neither one of them is a "Karen."

She's very quick to threaten litigation, and sometimes follows through. She tried to initiate a lawsuit within the family, and now is estranged. I haven't seen her in 16 years, and haven't had any communication with her at all in over a decade. I usually refer to her as my ex-sister if there's reason to mention her at all.

But she grew up just fine. And my roommate Karen was my favorite of the 3 roommates I had when I was away at school. Not all Karens are "Karens" and I feel for the ones who aren't. I'm sorry about your sister.

We were even roommates for awhile after we graduated. Looking back, she really WAS a Karen. One of the most difficult people I've ever known. We did not part on friendly terms. Of course, not all the Karens I've known fit that category, but a couple were kind of airheads, one was a cousin.

I have a neighbor whose name is Karen, and sometimes she can overreact to things going on in the neighborhood, but we still get along well.

She got very upset a few years back because one neighbor wasn't cleaning up her leaves in the fall. It used to bother me a little bit too, but I decided I was going to get myself past it. When the leaves from her big tree blow into my yard, I take care of them. I mean, they're leaves. Leaves fall in the fall. I also get awesome shade on my driveway from that big tree on hot summer days, so cleaning up the leaves isn't a big price to pay for that.

I still love my neighbors, even if there's a Karen among them.
