and the Pentagon reporter have entered into a long conversation about the palpable despair there over our withdrawal from Afghanistan. Gee why didn't they say anything when rtump signed that treaty with the Taliban over a year ago, or when he turned his back on all those Kurds? Didn't our military care then?

(1,366 posts)Nichole doesn't need to atone for her sins by placing herself on a burning pyre. I am sure she feels her own shame, I don't need to add to it.
It is what she does now that is important. Nothing more. She has done more to show us how past Republican can have their own redemption and to give hope to those who want to escape that curse.
Give create to the conversion, rather than disdain.

(32,609 posts)Everyone please watch the comments by Senator Claire McCaskill on this show. She has the most succinct and spot on comments of anyone ever. It is in two parts. Someone find it and post it please.
That is the focus of today's show.

(35,454 posts)but watching she and Yamiche I felt there was a certain amount of wallowing about the situation going on. I agreed with Claire who was trying to bring some reality and pragmatism to the situation. We've brought out, at the very least, 120,000 people out. I find that astounding and now we're in the process of getting many of them settled.

(50,332 posts)when it comes to this issue and I suspect it's because she was the White House Communications Director for Bush during the war and helped sell it at the time. Unlike other issues where she makes it crystal clear how she thinks and feels about them, I haven't heard her take a position for or against on the withdrawal probably because of her close friendship with the Bush family.
I like her and, outside of this issue, she has not pulled her verbal punches when discussing republicans and other issues so I tend to cut her some slack on this one.
