viable alternative... Those addicted to continuous danger have one hell of a hard time returning to a more normal life.

If he wants to keep in line with his 20+ year history of war reporting, maybe he can start looking into Why the US has been at war or military conflict for ALL but 16 years of our history. We have been a country for 243 years and have been involved militarily somewhere in the world (or at home) for 93.4% of our existence.

Maybe he can look into that and see if it is worth it in the lives we have taken the lives we have lost, and the money we have spent.

him more deeply than he understands. Probably not as it happened in 2012. That seems a long time ago. He has lost his objectivity. Did he think we would never leave. He must have understood that the Taliban would eventually prevail. That they would play the long game. Time has always been on their side.
