Having taught many an immigrant over the past few decades, I will say that many I have known take the ideals of our Constitution seriously. They do not understand the disrespect and corruption of our ideals that is exhibited by the right.

I know of several who have gone on to take activist positions to work on keeping our democratic principles. Just talking with them is a refreshing experience.

And yes, it would be nice if we could exchange one for one--these self-defined "patriots" who think wearing a mask is a violation of their freedom would not be missed.

But as posted upthread, Covid is working on it.
