(24,412 posts)has that effect. You don't have to look or talk stupid or use tortured logic to justify unreality.

(6,477 posts)Ron Johnson knows damn well how to analyze the votes in Wisconsin. He's actually explaining to this nut ("I know in my heart of hearts.." the way a professional would. Johnson probably knows these totals down to precinct level: he knows exactly where Trump missed those 51,000 Republican votes, and he has a pretty clear idea of why in each precinct.
Here's the thing: every damn Republican member of Congress and holder of statewide offices knows the exact same thing for their own states. They could sit Trump down and explain it to him in exactly these terms. They could sit the right wing militias down and do the same. They refuse to do so.

(7,217 posts)She heard but didnt listen to what he said. Because she cannot bear the truth. Because they are true believers they cannot admit their candidate could possibly lose so it just HAD to be something else.

(12,533 posts)And then, also because of trump & his idiot lawyers, the GOP lost the Senate runoffs because many many thousands of them stayed HOME because they were told "it doesnt matter; its rigged". Most of those who didnt return were in Red areas. If the same voters who voted in nov had turned out, they would have held the Senate. Perdue won the initial vote; getting more votes than trump.
They dont want to admit these things because it means trump couldnt hold his own. Trump is a LOSER.

(759 posts)My mother votes Republican without fail. She voted for TFG in 2016, but voted for Biden in 2020. She basically stated TFG was too much of an ass to support.
I suspect she split her vote, and voted for Johnson and other Republicans down ticket. So yeah, mom is one of the 51,000 that handed Wisconsin to Biden.
And no, I will not disown her for her political views.
