Chairman of VoteVets: Biden is a strong leader. That's why over 60 percent of Veterans agree.

Damn. Biden is a strong leader. 4 Presidents and he was the only one with the courage to end this war and not pass it to another administration.

That’s why over 60 percent of Veterans agree. And I’m on them. #Afghanistan

First and foremost, what we achieved in terms of moving people out of the country has been nothing short of extraordinary. Out of the initial chaos, our military and the Commander in Chief moved out 120,000 people. The largest NEO of its kind in history. Incredible.

The losses we took to meet this mission were tragic, and personally hit me hard. We expect to lose people in combat operations, but the heroes we lost died helping other people reach a better life. It was a gut punch for us all.

But losses alone cannot define success or failure of a mission. Otherwise D-Day and Iwo Jima would have been failures. So while every loss is tragic, these losses were sustained during what overall can only be called a stunningly successful operation.

I say "stunningly" because every naysayer in Washington said this couldn't be done. They even doubted we could get 50,000 people out, let alone 120,000. This military and this Commander in Chief proved them wrong.

It’s amazing it has taken 4 administrations to understand we should attack terrorists and not send our military to fight and die in foreign countries being more committed to the mission than the population on the ground.

We are not done. We still have the means to get people out, and a commitment from our government that we will do so. But that will be done through diplomatic, not military, means. As it should.

Joe Biden sees this war like those of us who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. He sees it as a man who’s son served there. He understands our 20 years of pain. No academics or theorists can argue hypothetical “what if’s” with his pain and our pain.

Today, I am proud of what the military was able to do in Afghanistan. And people in DC don't want to hear it, but @POTUS Biden, who accepted responsibility for what went wrong, deserves credit for what went right.

I’ve asked for 18 years who will end these wars. Who will end the forever war?

Joe Biden. I couldn’t be more proud of him and his leadership.

The Veterans are with you! #Afghanistan

If Trump had won the election and had followed through on the timetable for the withdrawal that he had negotiated, they would have been clapping, because "America First"! But .... I belong to an older generation of veterans, so maybe '60%' is accurate.
