Mark McConnaughey was a guy you could count on for anything, according to his long-time friend and doctor Mike Zaruba.

"If someone was in need, he would drop whatever he was doing, even if he needed to get what he was doing done, and come help," Zaruba said.

But two weeks ago, when the 57-year-old needed care beyond what the Nemaha County Hospital could provide, Zaruba, a board-certified ER doctor said, they could not find any help available in Nebraska.

"At best count, we called 23 different hospitals," Zaruba said. "It was just phone call after phone call where you're being rejected."

Zaruba said they found a hospital in Des Moines after several hours.

He was not tested for COVID for some reason but it is suspected that is what caused the inflammation tied to his injury which led to organ failure and his death.

ETA: Article says he was fully vaccinated.

Provide said person with a quart of bleach, a butt-plug UV light, and some horse paste.

and the bed disinfected while people like this are on their way.

They made their stupid choice, it's past time to give them their preferred bottle of livestock med and send them out the door to get out of the way for people with actual emergency needs.

for the short term, give veterinarians a medical license to legally treat anti-vaxer's.
Would that be a carrot or a stick to those unvax'd?
