I'd be happy with a Harris/Newsome candidacy, but I think that's a real problem, Constitution wise.

What I think the recall showed was that Democrats need to campaign against republicans as though they were campaigning against trump

(42,552 posts)to try and pressure her to resign so the new gov could appoint a Republican replacement and flip the Senate.
Having said that, now that Newsom is safe, it would be an excellent time for her to step down.

(30,613 posts)If he doesn't run, I doubt Newsom would be an ideal candidate to replace him, but I don't think I have any suggestions, besides VP Harris. Need to spotlight her from time to time, as an insurance policy.

(19,059 posts)Texas will play as large role in 2022 as Trump. Getting out the vote in swing states like Michigan and Ohio in 2022 to prevent them from becoming the next Texas for women is a winning strategy.
