got a live shot of the fans in the stands, and the band
do any of these people have to show vax status or a negative covid test before entering the stadium? is anyone wearing a mask?
considering it's alabama and considering it's florida--the whole thing looks like a bad stew waiting to happen (and by that i mean it looks like a superspreader event--and so do all the other football games that are on now)
have cases of covid been traced back to these huge outdoor events with people sitting beside each other and yelling & screaming?
am i just being paranoid? (covid? what covid?)
or doesn't it matter because... sports!

(29,322 posts)They dont check vaccine cards at Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona but I still bring mine. Hopefully with outdoor stadiums it isnt much of a problem but I doubt they check in Desantis state.

(121 posts)Thanks to our illustrious Governor DeathSantis, UF and FSU can not require even mask wearing . Weve been FSU season ticket holders for 40 years and sold our tickets to the first two games so we wouldnt be among the 80,000 folks crammed in asshole to elbow. Almost all not wearing masks and Im sure half not vaccinated. 🤦🏻♂️🤨

(10,243 posts)I was at a Gainesville restaurant last night getting some takeout. The place was full of football fans and not a mask in sight. The restaurant had a large sign on the door clearly stating masks were required, but apparently no one dared to enforce the rule. It's the DeSantis effect.

(102,358 posts)players and coaches completely vaccinated (or near so). As to the fans, who knows?
I see that in the SEC, only LSU is requiring all attendees over age 12 to show proof of vaccination.

(65,168 posts)I heard on ESPN that Alabama was 100% vaccinated; players, coaches, staff.
Saban has been doing "get vaxxed" PSAs in his state too.
So, there's at least that.
They mentioned a few other schools in that same condition, but I forget who they mentioned.
