Democrats will be replaced with Republicans who will help the wealthy rob them blind, pay less taxes, and literally destroy their planet in search of fossil fuel profits. Nothing will be done about climate change, or anything else.
The frame the media won't touch.

(34,457 posts)Do the Dems need to work hard to get something passed, they need to craft their message NOW and go on all the shows to tell Americans exactly why the bills Americans support are stalled. Tell them to call their representatives and whos responsible if the bills fail.
FBaggins
(26,748 posts)... they will also lose the midterms.
The challenge is that we don't all agree on how much is too much and how much is not enough - and essentially any disagreement is deadly to the process.

(4,619 posts)But somehow "my side" can't get the message out.
Pretty sad if you ask me.
The 1% are working on getting their next $55 Trillion while the rest of us work ourselves to death, and the planet burns.

The disagreement is plenty large enough to cost us control of Congress if the changes get too large.

(32,863 posts)We have allowed repukes to bring us here while we patiently wait for rights to be ripped from us. As long as Dems keep trying to play by the rules when the other party makes it up as we go, were screwed. We have been watching them take it all. Now were going to let them kill the planet too.

(4,619 posts)Republicans exist because Dems think people are smart enough to know what is good for them.
Time to toss that strategy.
Republicans Destroy Everything, and have done so since Carter.
Just say that 90% of the time, and talk about legislation the other 10%.
Or all is lost.

Apparantly not, cuz those same voices are pissin all over Biden & 'establishment' Dems today.

(32,626 posts)Governments rise and fall, and people live on. Countries break up. When I think of what the United States has done to countries through-out the world, it isn't surprising at all where we are now. The breakdown of a society. No one to blame, but much that explains. Just think, we could be Iraqi's, or Afghani's.

(9,481 posts)If Republican Legislatures overturn the election by selecting the electors for the Republican candidate even though they lost the State, what is the appropriate recourse.
StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)Several critical facts were left out. How many states? Did the outcome of the election change? Did Congress certify the manipulated results? Did the courts weigh in? If the courts did weigh in, how did they rule?
That said, what COULD happen in the future is not the issue I was addressing. The poster to whom I responded was not opening on potential action based on hypothetical sets of circumstances. They were claiming all is lost NOW and calling for people to take to the streets NOW based upon the current situation.

(18,486 posts)Your reasoning is the same that the Confederates and insurrectionists used to support their violations of the law and attempts to overthrow the government.
Surely, you're not suggesting that Democrats launch an armed rebellion against the government?

Republicans only help billionaires and fossil fuel producers.
Someone should just say it.

(58,785 posts)There's no point in baying at the moon, demanding that others do what can't be done. This forum draws an amazing number of people who don't "get" the messaging from our party themselves, and they're presumably interested. No one can force people against their own natures.
It's not that I'm without sympathy for those who become sick with worry over these things. Uncertainty and helplessness cause stress if they're not handled. But to me, the "dems in disarray" are them, typical of themselves maybe, but not of others and certainly not of the professionals currently negotiating what's going into these big bills.

(6,395 posts)I used to be an avid Silver Surfer comic book reader. In one issue, Thanos managed to get citizenship to a place that was a "capitalist utopia". He was summoned to the court to explain himself after it appeared he killed him (it was a ruse, just to throw him off so he could collect all the soul gems), Surfer decided this was a good idea to explain just how deadly Thanos was a monster. It was a capitalist utopia....that being, you had the ultra wealthy and massive poor.
The irony, those that were poor came there willingly believing they could suddenly rise up the ranks and be wealthy. In the end, the Surfer found out the absolute ruler was nothing more than a being that was interested in "being efficient" and had no concept of right or wrong, basically a conscious computational computer and nothing else, while others around him took advantage.
The Surfer was sentenced to death for violating their laws (one included causing an official spilling his drink), by sending him out to the vacuum of space. Well, that gave his powers back....so that didn't work so well.
