(9,970 posts)... I think the TV stations want us to watch them report on the missing blonde's boyfriend and Biden's failures, and not spend time on Facebook etc... they also are happy their TV ads are being watched by people who can't check their social media notifications during that time!

(4,448 posts)99% of network outages are caused by either a fat finger or a back hoe. And of those two it's usually a fat finger.
As an industry, we have really done a good job of protecting against equipment failures. Internet equipment breaks all the time. But it's all redundant now.
It's the the fat fingers that we can't seem to protect against.
