Glory hallelujah... praise Jesus! Facebook is BACK ONLINE! Now I can...

... catch up on all the conspiracy theories that I've been missing out on. I'm ready to be indoctrinated. I need to "do my own research" and learn all about the latest flat-earth anti-science anti-vax sovereign citizen news, because reasons.

It boggles my mind that people see Facebook as a source of information

I use it to keep up with my cousins & friends from around the country (I was even able to find a couple childhood friends I'd lost touch with 50+ years ago).

Ok, I do post the occassional political opinon & snarky meme (fewer since TFG left office) - I just can't help it. But I source what I post or repost.

If Facebook is terrible, why isn't Twitter never criticized on this board when it has many of the same flaws. I always kept my dislike of Twitter to myself, but since it is ok for people to criticize Facebook users, what is good for the goose is good for the gander

I prefer facebook because I can go to a group or a person and I can find them. It's more static.
Twitter kinda goes "into the ether"...
But both platforms can be used to spread propaganda, fake news and BS. However, I do find twitter to be worse because there is no control over what pops up on a twitter feed. On FB,I do get these lame pop ups like, "Cooking with Nancy" etc or goofy ads, but they're easy to ignore and don't make my blood boil.

I use Facebook to keep up with family and friends. Also a few years ago, along with other opera lovers I helped plan an opera concert using Facebook. Social media is what you make of it

I get no RW propaganda, misinformation about Covid, or any other trash that people complain about. I keep up with my family and friends, and only those who do not post political stuff.

I'm also an opera fan. How nice that you helped plan a concert.

I didn't know and didn't care. But now I'm curious about what happened. Is it due to the whistleblower? 🤔
