(6,857 posts)make sure that as much as possible goes to candidates. It doesn't bother me. In a way I like that they are up front about it. Contracts with credit card companies aren't free, and I suppose they have staff.

(21,714 posts)Instead of saying give us a tip. Sorry, aside from other reasons that I see reading the rest of the thread, that really turned me off

Group targets Graham on abortion vote
https://www.robesonian.com/news/124003/group-targets-graham-on-abortion-vote
Graham, of Lumberton, and Rep. Garland Pierce, of Scotland County, were the only two Democrats to side with House Republicans in a failed attempt Wednesday to override Democratic Gov. Roy Coopers veto. The final vote was 67-53, but 72 yes votes were needed to defeat the veto. The Senate voted to override in April.
The votes cast by Graham and Pierce quickly caught the eye and the anger of Lillians List. According to the groups website, Lillians List recruits, trains and supports progressive women, who are champions of reproductive freedom and equity for women, to run for public office in North Carolina.
During the 2016 legislative session, Graham was one of 11 Democrats to vote in favor of HB2, the controversial "Bathroom Bill."
The Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, commonly known as House Bill 2 or HB2, was a North Carolina statute passed in March 2016 and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory. The bill amended state law to preempt any anti-discrimination ordinances passed by local communities and, controversially, compelled schools and public facilities containing single-gender washrooms to only allow people of the corresponding sex as listed on their birth certificate to use them; it also gave the state exclusive rights to determine the minimum wage.

(6,857 posts)He was asked to fact check it. He indicated the only thing in dispute was whether the light bulb was shot out on purpose or by accident. Of course that's not provable.
What he took from it was that the fact it makes a powerful ad in 2021, when it happened in 1957 or 58, says a lot about out nation ... none of it good.

(1,305 posts)You know who else doesnt play politics? Krysten Sinema. So Im not comforted by that phrase.
Playing politics is working within the system to get done whats best for your constituents. Its not a pretty sport. But it is a team sport, all for one and one for all. If I do my research means I find out what my constituents want and need and work to make that happen, fine. If it means I could decide that the science on Covid isnt settled, then count me out.
I love his ad. I love that hes a six term Democrat. But when push comes to shove, I want him to be on our political side, not his own.
