General Discussion

You're angry that Attorney General Garland hasn't prosecuted Trump and his cronies as quickly as you want and isn't telling you what steps are being taken.
You're angry that the Jan 6 Committee isn't holding as many public hearings as you want and the House has gone off on recess.
Well, Attorney General Garland is ultimately responsible to President Biden. And the Committee is ultimately responsible to Speaker Pelosi. So, have you contacted them to demand changes? Or is complaining on a blog they don't read sufficient?

(13,569 posts)Every Democrat has a vote and an opinion and may voice that opinion as he/she wishes. Rank and file Dems don't need herding, and they don't need anyone telling them what they may or may not or should or should not say.
Not your bidness. Or mine.

(94,571 posts)...that continuous whining about what a terrible job the people investigating Trump and the Jan 6 insurrection are doing is tiring.

(13,569 posts)Nannying rank and file voters surely must get tedious.

(13,569 posts)Nah.
I'm laughing very hard.
But I WILL point out this tendency of some to want to stifle rank and file Dems every time I see it.
Better believe it.

(13,569 posts)That's on you, if you're tired by it.
Every voter's opinion is as valid as yours. (That must be a shocking thought for some.) Even the ones who have no position in life, no financial contributions, no status, no experience, nothing in their favor except that vote, that opinion.
Rank and file. Too often left behind, despised, rejected, ignored, denied a voice.

(18,486 posts)The OP apparently wished to voice THEIR opinion in the form of a question.

(13,569 posts)...and that means not telling rank and file voters what to do, implying that they are somehow inferior to others.

(18,486 posts)is both false and amusing, especially in light of your and others' consistent trashing of Congressional Democrats, the Democratic Attorney General and, by extension, the Democratic President and his administration.
But this is nothing new. I recall the same accusations and tactics during the lead up to impeachment. I guess enough time has passed to wipe all that egg off of faces and hope everyone's forgotten.
Grasswire2
(13,569 posts)Maybe you should explain what you mean by "trashing", too. Maybe your definition is one that excludes honest opinions from voters.
Here is what I see: I see you constantly trying to tamp down opinions. I don't like that, because I don't like the idea of party elites or wannabe elites shutting out the voices of others. We need every voice, every vote. The Democratic Party must be a party where every voice is heard.
Members of Congress and appointed officials and even President Biden don't need amateurs tamping down public opinion and public demands.
Let the people speak.

Democratic Underground is an online community for friendly, politically liberal people who understand the importance of working together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. Constructive criticism of Democratic politicians, party officials, and public figures is welcome and encouraged, but we expect our members to follow our forum rules and participate in a manner which promotes a positive atmosphere.
Members are not expected to hold across-the-board progressive opinions on every single issue, but we do expect members to be generally progressive and to support Democrats at election time -- remember that and respect it when posting. Harsh, divisive, partisan attacks against Democrats or progressive values (from the right or the left) are not welcome here.
But above all, we want our members to be friendly to each other. The vast majority of our members are thoughtful people who care about issues, and most of us can handle a different opinion if it is shared in a respectful way. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, a little human kindness goes a long way toward smoothing over our differences and making this place feel like a community.

It's human nature.
Correspondingly, a person who deems an issue to be of little importance will do little in response to it. They may post in social media expressing their annoyance, which they describe as anger, and not much else.
