(1,364 posts)would rather go after Biden then educate the masses.
Just like in Afghanistan - Trump surrendered and we were allowed 18 months to get out, but nope some "tough" Americans wanted to exercise their freedom and stay in Afghanistan only to find themselves in trouble and called home crying for help. Then instead of taking personal responsibility for "their actions" they blamed Biden.
Biden is tough he can take it, what is sad is how awful "Main Stream Media" has become.

(13,869 posts)Polls show a majority can't name their two Senators and rep in Congress, so why should they understand this? It sure isn't talked about on FOX, and you won't hear about it while watching wrestling, NASCAR or NFL.

(1,305 posts)I was thinking about this earlier today. Biden has the bully pulpit. Why doesnt he use it?
Ill tell you why. As far as hes come in recognizing just how poisonous the current environment is, hes just too polite deep in his soul to go where we actually need him to. He needs to go on TV or do an interview or any damn thing. Look the American people in the eye and tell them what they already know: The current crop of Republicans are quite happy to screw the 70% of people who didnt vote for them, dont support them, and wish they were gone.
Kamala could stop in a hallway with the reporters who are always following her and just lay it on the line, the Republicans cut taxes and ran up the debt, and now they dont want to pay for it.
Biden, Schumer, every damn one of them could do the same thing. On a hundred issue, yes. But for gods sake, pick one and hammer it. Every day. Day in and day out.
Call out Mitch by name. Call him what he is, a danger to democracy. Call out all the worst ones by name. Our side is waiting to hear that kind of messaging. If we dont, well, hope doesnt actually spring eternal.

(1,305 posts)While the media may spin it, the fact is they will report what Biden or Harris or Pelosi say. And theyll cover harde it the more contentious it is.
Which do you think gets reported more? Were working hard to build a bridge that will benefit everyone and or were building a bridge for the people who need it and we dont care what crackpot anti-bridge republicans say about it?

(11,098 posts)Most folks don't give a hoot-in-hell about the debt ceiling. However, if the debt ceiling is not raised and the economy collapses, they will care very much. However, they will not give any thought to why the economy tanked. Instead, they will blame the party they think are in power - the Democrats.
Mitch is a prick but he ain't stupid. His only concern is that the GQP taking control of the House and Senate. If the way to get there destroys the nation, he's fine with that.
I do not care how the Democrats deal with the debt ceiling - a carve out of the filibuster, reconciliation, or magic pixie dust. The bottom line is that this issue must be resolved soon.
