Virginia gubernatorial Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe cast President Joe Biden and his party’s lawmakers in Congress as a liability in the final weeks of the campaign, with polls showing a tightening race. “We are facing a lot of headwinds from Washington,” McAuliffe, a former head of the Democratic National Committee, said during a virtual rally with supporters Tuesday. “As you know, the president is unpopular today, unfortunately, here in Virginia, so we’ve got to plow through.” The remarks were quickly amplified by the Republican National Committee on Twitter as the McAuliffe campaign sought to explain them.

At least that is how it appears in the Hampton Roads area.

Our area looks like a bomb full of Retrumplicans signs was dropped and they ended up at every intersection.

I know that these signs on public roads don't mean much, unless you consider that there are some active and motivated Retrumplicans that took the time to put out all these Trumpkin...err...Youngkin signs. It's depressing. It's all you see, no matter where you are driving.

It would be nice to see an occasional sign for the good guys, but I guess McAuliffe has a plan.

I'm not trying to be a downer. I am extremely motivated to make sure we keep Virginia sane, but if it seems like only one side is fighting to someone like me, what does it do to folks that are "casual voters".

There are enough Youngkin signs by the roadsides here that they are almost a hazard to driving.
