Q Anon loving neighbor being rushed to the hospital (Covid)

Live in an upper middle class neighborhood in West Michigan. The neighbor a few doors down is a Q Anon nut, even has a Q Anon related license plate on his car, and flies a huge American Flag off the back of his truck. Just terrible neighbors in an otherwise great neighborhood. This family is something else. The adult son lives with them and doesn't work, instead he stays home everyday playing loud music and smoking pot. The father doesn't work either, he's usually drinking in his backyard. They have 2 dogs who mostly live in the backyard that have never been taken for a walk.

And fireworks, my god, they light off fire works all week around a Holiday, they must spend $10K annually on fireworks. Also it's the only house on the street that doesn't care for their lawn well and lets their house look shabby by not maintaining it properly.

I talk to the wife occasionally, nice enough lady who is the only bread winner in the family. Saw her last week and she said her husband has Covid, but it's just like a cold and they aren't living in fear. No idea what not living in fear means to them. Well, I just saw the husband get loaded into an ambulance and he wasn't conscious. The family was running around all panicked to rush the paramedics into their house. Maybe they should have lived a little more in fear (You know, got vaccinated, took precautions).

Best of luck to them.

That was a dose of reality for everyone on the block!

While they were staunchly Republican, my next-door neighbor and his wife were the first on the block to get vaccinated. Making a long-story short, it wasn't COVID that killed him but rather an overwhelmed healthcare system. A fractured pelvis is usually not fatal,...

And that points to where my sympathies lie: with people who have other urgent health needs, but are way-down on the priority lists. And their family members.

Can't help wondering how many other people were exposed to the virus by this Q-DumbAss before today.

One of my pet peeves is people who don't walk their dogs. My dog lives for her walks, she gets 2 or 3 a day. If I don't give her a walk she stalks me and lets me know. Your dog needs exercise, they are so much healthier and happier when they're getting walks daily.

These dogs aren't left out in the Winter or rain, but other than that they're outside most of the time. I did see them try to give the Springer Spaniel a walk one time and it was obvious it had never been trained before as it was pulling like a madman.

They are social pack hunters, who hunt at dawn and dusk. When you walk your dog, you may think it is about exercise but it is really about much more for the dog. A twice daily walk is a pack bonding experience, where the dog follows the owner's lead in a social hunt.

That's why we always feed our dog after a walk. When the hunt is a success, food follows

I see people walking their dogs on my street often. But they seem to be going at a quick march, blazing down the sidewalk with the dogs trotting at their sides. My philosophy has always been that a walk with the dog is 'social time' for them. I don't mean stopping to greet other dogs, I mean stopping to sniff at all of the so-called 'pee-mail' left by previous walkers. My little beast has to stop at nearly every tree, fence post and grassy spot along the way to check out the latest, and leave her two cents worth as well. So my walks have always been a slow and drawn out event, definitely doesn't count towards much calorie burning for me. While I'd love to kill two birds with one stone--real exercise for human and dog--I can't see dragging my pup along and making her miserable. So we go at her pace for the most part. Just a difference in goals I guess.

He had bought into his sister's bullshit about the vaccine, luckily his wife had gotten vaccinated and even though she tested positive for Covid she had no symptoms. Now that he's gone the rest of the family is left to deal with everything that comes with a death.

If only people would get the vaccine this horrible pandemic would be behind us.

He will use up the monoclonal antibody treatment that a vaccinated breakthough case could have used.

He will take up bed space, thousands of dollars of federal funds, medical personnel, and medicine supplies that could be used to treat a stroke victim or child injured in a car accident.

There may be a case for rationing health care. A new triage. People who are fully vaccinated should get treated first. Always.

Are you saying that a vaccinated patient who is shot at a robbery will fare better because he is vaccinated even if there is a dearth of space and personnel to treat him or her? Really?

Are you saying the asthmatic 12 year old who cannot breathe will be okay without the oxygen that the unvaccinated asshole used up?

Unvaccinated covid patients are using up resources that are needed by your engaged patients because they were not "engaged". They are killers.

Unlax, man! What's up, doc? I'm backing your play.

Engaged patients means that they are involved, proactive about their health care. They have taken positive steps by getting "the jab", steps that show an understanding of science. Not fake science, not tiny preliminary studies in some obscure clinic, not extrapolations based on misinterpreted policies in some foreign language jurisdiction.

Patients who respect other people enough to get vaxed (and wear masks and all the things they've done for 18 months) and thus respect real medical science, ... those patients should be treated first.

You don't need to attack me.
