Lets give the Dems some credit!

(7,877 posts)The weather report is taken more seriously than most news shows.
Any news reporter not in an office and not talking about the latest traffic accident during rush hour is ahead of the pack.
Two sentences and then KRAW correspondent Hot Dog McGraw is on the scene with a live report. Dog ?. Woof.
The Dems need to be more than the general manager who sits in the dugout.

They've all been ordred to never speak a positive word of anything related to the D's.

(4,268 posts)It's nothing new. Excuses aren't new either.
True, the Dems don't have a fox news, oann, EWTN or the vast network of local radio hate shows like the Qpublicans do. But there is no excuse for being this bad and uncreative.

(13,571 posts)Alas, GOP excels at message crafting and message discipline and has for several decades now.
Dems have people available who COULD craft messages commensurate with the moment -- with the import and urgency necessary. George Lakoff. Thom Hartmann. People who know how to do what's necessary as we are on the side of truth and justice.
Hartmann's book CRACKING THE CODE is a tutorial. I wonder how many in leadership have ever considered hiring someone to formulate the day's message. That's how Rove wins, you know. Seizing the daily news narrative by 5 p.m. each day.
Media gravitates to those who have a compelling message and can state it.

(4,268 posts)If I were Dem leadership, I would have already set up an "marketing/messaging" think tank that would as you put it "seize the daily news narrative" every day. (And even create memes and graphics that can be distributed online).
So many things Dems could do which is the frustrating part. I will check out the book you mentioned. Thank you for the tip.
