I thought it was an odd omission in the book Peril by Woodward and Costa

There was no mention whatsoever of the legal troubles Trump and the Trump organization is facing. I realize trials have not happened yet nor actual charges for Trump. And still the book ends with Lindsey Graham trying to get Trump off the idea that the election was stolen so that he can make the world's greatest comeback, as Republicans take the House and gain control of the Senate in 2022. Brad Parscale states truthfully "I don't think he sees it as a comeback. He sees it as vengeance."

Also, they mention how Ford pardoned Nixon.
"A prior president burdened by the heavy shadow of his predecessor" "Ford was increasingly beleaguered as Nixon dominated the news." "I needed my own presidency," Ford later said. His remedy was a full pardon of Nixon. . . .Ford lost the presidency two years later, largely due to suspicions that he worked to save his political mentor and predecessor from prison. Biden has said he would never pardon Trump. But he faced Ford's dilemma: How do you get the country to move on? How do you have your own presidency?"
(p.417)

For starters, Ford didn't get one vote that put him in the office of the president. He was appointed Vice President after Agnew resigned in disgrace. The suggestion that Biden should even contemplate a pardon for Trump blows my mind. "To have (his) own presidency?" As if Biden doesn't have his own presidency, as if you could compare Ford to Biden at all is mind-bending.

Woodward and Costa call Trump "an extraordinary political force, in many ways right out of the American playbook."

I beg to differ. I think he is an abomination.

They use these words to describe him on the last page of the book: "An outsider. Anti-establishment. A businessman. A builder. Bombastic. Confident. A fast-talking scrapper."

I could think of a few other ways to describe that repulsive nit-wit. . . .

And then they end it with him bragging that he "bring(s) rage out. I do bring rage out. I always have. I don't know if that's an asset or a liability, but whatever it is, I do."

I guess they are booking their future appointments for their next book with him and are keeping the threat of him alive to give us all nightmares in perpetuity.

I have no doubt he sees 2024 as the year he gets his revenge. He'll try to get it next year in the congressional elections. Biden is having his own presidency, but the press keeps giving Trump all the attention. They are more to blame for the awful state of affairs we're in than any other factor. They created Trump and they keep him alive. I'll never forgive them.

barely covered or not mentioned.

This is a third of 3 books covering the tRump presidency, Fear, Rage, and now Peril, though, and I don't remember what was covered in the first two without searching them. As suggested, they may also have been asked not to mention some things that could affect legal proceedings, etc.

Woodward has the ability to get people to talk. I’d guess he stayed aware from triggers for Trump.
