for wearing a mask. I thanked her for doing the same. Then, I looked and nobody else in line was masked.

(63,221 posts)I would anyway while inside a business, but there are signs on every door and window of all the businesses in my neighborhood say that we have to have a mask on to enter the premises. I am not sure if there is compliance in every neighborhood in the city, but there definitely is in mine.
However on our walk yesterday, it was about half and half when people were outside.

(1,349 posts)I wish they'd just have the guts to bring back (or had never ended) the indoor mask mandate nationwide. This piecemeal every man for himself stuff blows.

(9,953 posts)... I'm in Southern California - everyone in the stores is masked. Occasionally, I hear of a protest or rant, but I've never seen one in person.

(12,382 posts)Sadly my last stop is Indiana where Im visiting my daughter, and no one anywhere that Ive been this week has been wearing a mask. Not in stores, not in restaurants, certainly not anywhere outdoors. It is for sure a different planet.

(3,952 posts)to the manager of the local Safeway. As I was going through the check-out line, the checker was yammering on and on about how she won't get vaccinated, all of the reasons I thought were stupid. This was conversation was unprovoked by me and she wasn't impressed that I knew three people who died from Covid-19 or that four of my five grandchildren were sick with it.
In my letter, I asked the manager to please ask his employees to just make pleasant small talk instead of going off on an unhinged rant about a deadly serious topic. I just fking can't with these Covidiots anymore.

But I am going to the beach this weekend and I suspect it will be different there. Lots of Republicans.
