No one knows more about what is at stake than the January 6th Committee and those who support their efforts.
So stop pretending that they don't know, and stop spreading the RW propaganda that they're going to fold under political pressure, or that they are just going through the motions in order to appease Democratic voters by appearing to have done something that will inevitably devolve into having done nothing.
The January 6th investigative committee is comprised of people who were there - people whose lives were in danger, people who saw first-hand what an attempt to destroy our democratic government looked like - up close and personal. So stop pretending that you know more than they do, and insisting that your "I'll believe it when I see it" comments are anything more than an attempt to undermine the efforts of those determined to expose the truth.
I am sick and tired of the constant negativity. I am sick and tired of the we're going to lose no matter what we do attitude. I am sick and tired of the Trump's going to get away with it posts from those who are as drunk on the Kool-aid as the RWers they pretend to despise.
I stand with those who are standing up for our democracy - and I am not unaware of their political peril in doing so. I can only hope that their efforts are not in vain - and that those who believe in those efforts will not be undermined by those who prefer to believe that those efforts are a lost cause.

(9,899 posts)Again step aside, keep your Faux opinions to yourself. I have been here over twenty years, so another freeper inspired hide don't mean shit to me, "patriot".. LoL

(4,708 posts)No one would would be more tickled than me if Bannon and the others spilled the truth and further action was taken as a result. Im not Faux anything; what I am is a radical environmentalist whose lifetime of experience with politicians manipulated by corporate money is substantial.
I dont know how your 20 years here somehow qualifies you as a guru, but apparently you believe it does. OK. Freeper inspired, really? All I know about them comes from references picked up here on DU over the years.
What inspires me is action. The committee took action; Im waiting for the results.
Finally, patriot, not me in any contemporary sense of the word at all. Im a tree hugging, saltwater and dirt worshiper to my bones and in my heart.
And, by the way, my opinions are simply thatas are yours.

(6,915 posts)99% of us are sheep, there are very few real shepherds.
Unless youre a shepherd, you dont know. Stop the baaaaad predictions.
Because after all, its the predictions of doomsday that carry the infection of RW propagandathat Democrats are weak.
Dont indulge in the comfortably numb melancholy from forecasts of doom. Keep those predictions to yourself, please.

(90,335 posts)I wish history and human behavior science agreed with the OP sentiment, democrats are TEXT BOOK under reacting to the situational threat the GQP poses on democracy right now.
Only 64% of democrats think the CONTINUED insurrection anti democracy voter laws enacted by the GQP is a problem.
There is no "GOTV" vote access and nullification laws, there's no place on earth historically and presently where brute force voting counters access and nullification laws.
We're looking like Spain circa 1938, the left then thought they could pussy foot around with a Trump like asshole and he became dictator.
Error on the side of putting them ***ALL*** in jail for a long time ... the J6 terrorist attack HISTORICALLY is a start not the ending.

(23,097 posts)the rest of the line went through my head and there it is in writing.
This ain't no fooling around is so prescient and true, this is monumental, nation changing and has to be stopped NOW by full disclosure in public of the real truth of 1/6. This is an existential fight, no doubt about it.

(58,785 posts)I was so irritated a poster's determined loserism, that I actually considered putting him on ignore. So I pulled up his posting history to make sure it wasn't just a bad day, and every thread I opened had drawn his kind of "sympathizers," but ones who made him look almost like a voice of reason. I had 5 of the worst sounding lined up one after the other, wondering where I'd hit bottom and whether to just give up and go make cocoa, when the history lead here to your thread.
Back to a world where comfort and hot cocoa, democracy and reconciliation bills, are real and not just tragic memories of what rich people have taken from them.
So, thank you, Nance. Cocoa it is, but I'll enjoy it a lot more now.
