Why are Republicans willing to invest so much in Steve Bannon ??

Does he have incriminating evidence on all of them? That is doubtful.

Do they simply not care about our democracy or the rule of law?

Do they support Steve Bannon just because their leadership asked them to do it?

Or are they so lacking in courage that they would destroy this democracy and break their oath to defend this nation, against all enemies, foreign and domestic, just to maintain power?

Or are they afraid that Herr Leader will sic his pack of crazies, also known as the base, on them?

Surely, there are Republicans out there somewhere willing to primary these cowards?

no matter how trivial. It's an extension of the Gingrich Doctrine, which started in the 1994 elections.

they want to keep their positions of power, and they "think" trump is the only way they can do it. The problem is trump is going to destroy the whole party to get his revenge. A narcissist never forgets and will "always" destroy those who cross them.

They only care about power. Democratic institutions are important only to the extent that they can be used to legitimize their power.

His voter registration history is seriously suspect.

Remember the hot tub filled with acid? Although that was probably his drug addicted third wife.

Everyone he associates with is sleazy.

Which has been obvious for some time now. He's one of them, and his antics just further their cause. They'll keep supporting him until his behavior hits them in their wallets. We saw the same thing with Dumbya. "War crimes? No problem. You're either with us, or you're against us." That's until he crashed the economy (with their help.) Now, none of them want to be seen with him. Cowards, indeed. Sniveling, traitorous cowards, the lot of them.

Theatre “all things” branded R must be defended and/or praised so the FauxNews sound machine can spew its fodder. Compare it to 300-400k Nazi rallies put on the airwaves and social media. The ignorant Deplorable base MUST be fed.

It looks like they want to identify people like Steve Bannon to take the rap for Jan. 6, when it was a project of the same people who brought us the tea party summer back in 2010. If you look over that Forbes 400 list of richest Americans you will find the people responsible, including corporations such as ATT, Capillarity, John Deer, the entire fossil fuel industry, banking, etc.
Steve Bannon gets the news coverage. I don't see much in the news about ATT and OANN.

I get the impression that many TFG voters never voted before and won’t ever again if TFG is locked up…which Bannon’s testimony could cause. Democrats are energized to flush a lot of Republicans out of office next year; without TFG’s supporters, they don’t have a chance.

Or perhaps they don't know what he knows, so they are worried about what he might say. Or they might be worried that he is unpredictable and would throw them and/or Trump under the bus with his testimony. Or they are just trying to suppress his testimony just because. It could literally be a combination of things but, whatever the reason, it likely means that whatever he has to say would be bad for them.
