Voting rights and women’s rights and recreation marijuana and a host of other rights depend on where in the US you live, also?

It shouldn’t be this way.

I have always felt there needs to be standardization on certain rights across the whole US. These are a matter of liberties. I know I’m not explaining it that clearly but, I have always thought that these types of rights (freedom of expression, etc) are meant for all Americans. Not state level stuff. We are made up of 50 states, but we are one country. Some state restrictive laws I believe are not right and should be changed.

But if I moved to, say ... Wyoming ... and if I voted Democratic, it wouldn't mean squat.

I always wonder, how could so many people fail their high school civics classes.
The Senate represents the states, the HoR represents the people.

(The goodness/badness of this is a different conversation.)

and remember the relative difference between the original 13 colonies. Compared to the difference between states today.

Republicons also remembered and exploited that
